Government Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital was established in 1989, it runs with fame and dignity. Initially it was started under a project and in 1997 it was carried out in temporary revenue. Finally, in 2005 it was directed by fully revenue budget. In every academic year 50 students got admitted in this medical college and hospital. A group of experienced teachers teach here with sincerity. Result of every professional examination is excellent with maximum number of merit position from one to ten. Our course and curriculum run under the direct super vision of pharmacy faculty and faculty of medicine, University of Dhaka. Final BHMS certificate is given by university of Dhaka and practice registration given by director, Homoeo and Traditional Medicine under Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). This medical college is directed by director, Alternative Medicine, Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME) under per-3, Medical Education and Family Welfare Division, Ministry of Health Family welfare (MOHFW). After passing BHMS course, there is opportunity of government service in upozilla, zilla and national level as medical officer.
100-bedded academic Homoeopathic hospital was situated in the complex for clinical class and training of internee doctors. Every day 200-250 patient comes to outdoor and emergency department for better treatment. Average 50-55 patients remain admitted in indoor bed. Pathological lab. Test, ECG, X-ray and ultrasonography done with government fixed price. Antenatal care is given to the pregnant women. Complicated and chronic disease is treated by outdoor and indoor medical board, formed by experienced homoeopathic doctors.
To teach in hands on preparation and quality control procedure of Homeopathic medicine as direction of college visiting team of Dhaka University, Research cum production unit was setup in the complex.
In 2007, research cum production unit building was built up. Manpower, laboratory equipment, raw materials and logistics support were provided by Alternative Medical Care (AMC) 2011-2016, 3rd sector program HPNSDP and Alternative Medical Care (AMC) 2017-2022, 4th sector program HPNSP.
